Innovation Strategy Specialist

職務内容/Job duties (Immediately after hiring)

■Business Overview
The Innovation Strategy Specialist will collaborate with the innovation management team and leadership to support the execution of the innovation strategy. A key success factor will be facilitating communication and alignment between various internal teams and external partners, such as healthcare professionals (HCPs) and global researcher networks. The specialist will work to understand the specific needs of each group and assist in implementing effective governance processes aligned with the corporate technology roadmap. This role will also involve identifying potential challenges and recommending solutions to ensure continuous execution of the corporate technology roadmap. Additionally, the specialist will focus on fostering strong relationships and promoting collaboration across teams.

■Our Purpose:
Our team holds ownership of the corporate-wide TRM (Technology Road Map) and regularly updates it through close communication with the corporate innovation strategy, overall business strategy, and relevant stakeholders.
Identify potential cross-BU (including Tech-Push) innovation projects and support the Project Manager to ensure smooth project execution, while assisting with the proposal of the innovation project.

Our team provides operational support for potential cross-BU (including Tech-Push) innovation projects by establishing and leading an advisory committee for cross-BU (including Tech-Push) innovation, ensuring successful project execution.

Through close communication with Olympus Innovation Venture, we share the innovation project portfolio (BU-specific and Cross-BU innovation projects) along with the target core technologies in each project, helping internal stakeholders make clear decisions on whether to pursue make or buy options.
Based on prioritized technology domains, we establish and operate a tech expert network and monitor and update the latest technology trends through various internal and external activities.

■Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Innovation strategy update
Develop annual process to update TRM and set up SMEs group from BU, R&D and other stakeholders
Align the update schedule with SBP and FYP planning
Lead the process and propose to Div. Innovation Board
Develop communication plan to inform the updated TRM to internal stakeholders and lead the communication

2. COE (Center of Excellence) for Cross-BU (incl. Tech-Push) innovation
Identify potential Cross-BU (Incl. Tech-Push) innovation project
Identify project manager (PM) and communicate relevant function managers who are report line of the candidate of PM
Support PM for project proposal to innovation board

3. Establish & operation tech. expert network
Establish a global network which consists of the world best class researchers in prioritized technology domains
Establish & lead internal tech. SMEs group who are responsible to manage the global researcher network in prioritized technology domains
Monitor & update the latest technology trend by attending the top conference in prioritized technology domains

応募資格/Qualifications Qualifications
■Education
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, or Clinical Applications is preferred.

■Language:
Fluent in English languages, both written and verbal is required.
Fluent in Japanese or another languages is preferred.

■Experience & Skills:
・Minimum of 5 years of experience working in medical device research and development teams, with preferred experience in collaboration with global healthcare professionals (HCP)
・Experience in program management, early marketing, or strategic planning is preferred.
・Strong communication skills, both verbal and written; ability to quickly distils complex information into actions/recommendations.
・Works with a passion for continuous improvement and quality
・Ability to work effectively in a multicultural environment.
・Demonstrates the highest ethical standards actively promotes trust respect and integrity in all dealings both inside and outside the Company

【Ideal Profile】
The ideal candidate will have a background in technical and clinical applications, with knowledge of the medical device sector. Experience in early marketing, clinical collaboration with healthcare professionals (HCPs), or product development processes is preferred. The candidate should demonstrate strong collaboration skills and work closely with innovation stakeholders to ensure key milestones are met while supporting broader innovation initiatives.

待遇/Salary & Benefits 【Type of Employment】
Full-time(Probationary period : 3 month, no changes in compensation and benefits during this period.)

【Working Hours】
8:45 AM〜5:30 PM (Break time:45 minutes)
Standard working hours: 8 hours
Flexible working hours available (not applicable for managerial positions)
Core hours (mandatory working hours): 11:15 AM – 1:30 PM
※Reduced working hours available.
※Remote work available.
Note: These conditions may change depending on the nature of the work.

Business trips: international trips are expected within this role.

【Holidays/Leaves】
・Holidays:Sundays, some Saturdays, national holidays, year-end and New Year holidays (December 30 to January 4), two summer holidays, and other days designated by the Company
Annual holidays: 129 days (based on the company calendar)
Paid leave*: 20 days of annual paid leave granted.
※The number of paid leave days in the first year will vary depending on the month of joining (up to 20 days).
※It is also possible to take paid leave in hourly increments (with certain conditions).

Parental and Maternity Leave: Available (Parental leave utilization rate in FY2022: 94% for women※1, 70.2% for men)

Refresh Plan (Rest and recuperation leave)
※While the parental leave utilization rate for childbirth in the target year is 100%, it is reported as 94% due to postpartum leave being included within the period.

【Salary Range & Allowances】
Job Grade:G8
Salary Range*:7.5M ~ 10M JPY
※Above annual salary is an estimate. The final compensation will be determined based on your experience, skills, and our company's compensation standards.

Allowances: Commuting allowance, next-generation allowance (not applicable for managerial positions), remote work allowance, etc.
