Head of Business Architecture

職務内容/Job duties (雇入れ直後 / Immediately after hiring)

【PURPOSE/SUMMARY】
The Head of Business Architecture will lead the global OLYMPUS Digital Operations Solutions Team and take full responsibility for overseeing the integration and evolution of digital manufacturing and IT solutions across the organization. As a senior executive, you will drive the transformation of our digital operations by managing cutting-edge technologies such as S/4 HANA and other critical digital manufacturing systems, ensuring that the organization remains at the forefront of industry innovations. This role requires exceptional leadership, strategic vision, and deep expertise in both digital solutions and manufacturing operations. You will collaborate with executive leadership to shape the future of the organization’s digital landscape, ensuring the seamless operation, scalability, and continuous improvement of digital solutions and processes.

【PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES】
■Leadership of Global Digital Operations Solutions Team:
・Accountable for leading and mentoring a diverse, high-performing global team of 20-30 professionals, ensuring alignment with business goals, fostering a culture of innovation, and driving continuous improvement in digital manufacturing practices.
・Responsible for developing talent and building leadership capabilities within the team, ensuring staff are equipped to meet the evolving demands of digital manufacturing and operations solutions.

■Digital Manufacturing & Operations Solutions Management:
・Accountable for overseeing the day-to-day operations of digital manufacturing solutions, including systems such as S/4 HANA, ensuring these platforms function as business-critical assets and are optimized for performance, scalability, and business value.
・Responsible for acting as the business owner for digital manufacturing technology/IT solutions, ensuring their alignment with business processes and the continuous improvement of these systems in the global manufacturing environment.

■Federated Communities of Practice (CoP) Development:
・Accountable for establishing and managing federated communities of practice (CoP) across the organization to increase maturity, knowledge sharing, and best practice adoption in digital operations, manufacturing technology, and IT solutions.
・Responsible for fostering a collaborative environment, enabling knowledge transfer, and ensuring that expertise within the digital manufacturing and operations team is continuously evolving.

■Collaboration & Change Management:
・Accountable for collaborating with IT operations teams to manage incidents, change requests, and system enhancements, ensuring that digital solutions are seamlessly integrated and maintained across the global business.
・Responsible for ensuring smooth transitions of new solutions into the business-as-usual (BAU) phase, managing the business-side handover, and ensuring all necessary processes, training, and support structures are in place.

■Project Scoping & Digital Innovation Leadership:
・Accountable for developing and leading project scopes and digital innovation proposals in collaboration with functional leaders, ensuring that new initiatives are aligned with business objectives and are effectively piloted and tested (e.g., MVPs).
・Responsible for owning the business aspects of digital projects, from initial idea generation through to successful execution and transition into scalable, sustainable solutions.

■Roadmap & Feature Backlog Management:
・Accountable for managing the solution-specific roadmaps and feature backlogs, ensuring that digital operations solutions evolve in alignment with the business’s strategic priorities and needs.
・Responsible for continuously assessing market trends and technology advancements, ensuring that the organization’s digital capabilities stay ahead of the curve and deliver competitive advantages.

■Escalation, Risk Mitigation & Continuous Improvement:
・Accountable for managing escalations and mitigating risks related to digital manufacturing and operations solutions, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
・Responsible for overseeing the continuous improvement processes within digital solutions, driving efficiency, quality, and performance gains throughout the entire lifecycle of digital systems.

■Value Creation & Solution Adoption:
・Accountable for driving value creation through digital transformation, ensuring that digital manufacturing solutions generate measurable business benefits and are widely adopted across the organization in alignment with Quality and Regulatory (i.e., QMS standards and policies).
・Responsible for developing and executing user adoption strategies, ensuring that digital solutions are embraced by business stakeholders and are delivering their intended outcomes.

■Advisory Role to Global Leadership:
・Accountable for acting as a senior advisor to global leadership on digital manufacturing techniques and innovations, providing strategic guidance on how to leverage digital technologies to enhance operational efficiency and drive business growth.
・Responsible for shaping the long-term vision for digital manufacturing solutions and ensuring that digital strategies align with the organization’s broader business objectives and industry trends.

■Coaching, Mentorship & Career Development:
・Accountable for coaching and developing the careers of both staff and managers within the Digital Operations team, ensuring a pipeline of future leaders in digital manufacturing.
・Responsible for providing ongoing mentorship and development opportunities, helping individuals grow and expand their skills to meet the evolving demands of the business.

応募資格/Qualifications 【SUPERVISOR RESPONSIBILITIES】
・Management of a teams (Manager of Manager) of approx. max 20-30 people
・Employee evaluation / performance mgmt.
・Budget ownership for continuous improvement

【MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS】
・Master’s degree in a relevant subject or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and education and/ or training
・15+ years of experience in leadership roles within digital transformation, manufacturing technology, and operations management, with deep expertise in digital solutions and / or Quality Management Systems (QMS) (e.g., ISO 9001, Six Sigma)
・10+ years of experience and a strong track record of implementing digital solutions across regions (e.g., SAP ECC, SAP S/4, IIoT, PLM, IBP, WMS and/ or MES solutions)
・10+ years experience in agile project management methodology and process frameworks (e.g., APQC, SCOR)
・Versatile with SAP ACTIVATE methodology
・Project Management Professional (PMP) or PRINCE II certification is a plus
・Excellent communication and presentation skills
・Strong negotiation skills at the stakeholder level
・Solid organizational skills, including attention to detail and multitasking abilities
・Proficient in MS 365, Jira, or related tools
・Fluent business English
・Ability and willingness to travel when needed

8:45〜17:30 (休憩:昼45分)
 標準労働時間8時間
